N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- For not playing in over a week, the Oakes High girls basketball team at times looked a little shaky, but in the end Monday night in Gwinner, they were able to come up with a 75-55 victory over Milnor/North Sargent.

Oakes (8-4, 2-1 Class B District 5) managed to have a five point lead after the first quarter, and in spite of foul trouble by two starters, were able to have a 15 point lead at intermission. The lead remained the same going into the four, despite MNS (6-6, 4-3 Region I) dipping into the deficit somewhat, before the Tornadoes pulled away in the fourth.

Four players lead in double figures for the victorious Tornadoes, lead by 30 from Nicole Schmitz. Anna Greenmyer put in 14 points to lead the Bulldogs.

The Tornadoes welcome Napoleon-Gackle/Streeter to the South Gym of Oakes High Tuesday night.
