N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  Down 50-39 after three quarters of play, the Cardinals outscored the Aggies 21-9 in the fourth quarter to come from behind and win the non-region match-up on Friday night 60-59.  Carrington improves to 10-2 overall, Velva drops to 8-4.

Velva had a 10 point lead with about five minutes to play, the Cardinals would take the lead for the first time in the contest with about two minutes left in the fourth quarter, 55-54, Velva had scored only four points up to that point.  With seven seconds left and down by one, Velva would get the ball at half court after a timeout.  Senior Nick Effertz would get a look from about 16 feet away but couldn’t get it to fall, the Aggies would try and save the ball from going out of bounce after the missed shot but were unsuccessful as a Cardinals player grabbed it as time expired.  Senior Garrett Bickett for Carrington led all scorers with 25 points, including four 3-pointers.  Sophomore Seth Nelson added 21 points, 14 in the second half.  The Aggies had three players in double figures, Junior Hayden Lee had 15, Nick Effertz had 11 and Ethan Schepp added 10.
