N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier senior Lane Hanson needed 32 points to hit 1,000 in his career.

In spite of some early foul trouble that saw him sit some of the first half, Hanson ended up with exactly 32 points in E/K/M’s 71-52 victory over Oakes Friday night; the milestone point coming on a free throw in the latter stages of the contest.

The Rebels (8-2, 2-o Class B District 5) were tied with the Tornadoes after the first, and were up two at half before increasing the lead to 10 after three quarters, and never looking back. Junior Issac Huber contributed 22 points in the victory.

Oakes (5-5, 1-1) saw their three game winning streak snapped, with a team high 20 points from freshman Garrett Meehl.

E/K/M heads to Wyndmere Saturday to meet Wyndmere-Lidgerwood. Oakes welcomes Strasburg/Zeeland Monday, with coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starting around 6:45, with tip near 7 p.m.
