JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – After falling behind 2-0 early in the first quarter, the No. 6 Jimmie women’s basketball team scored the game’s next 15 points on the way to a 78-37 win over Dickinson State (N.D.) University Friday evening at Harold Newman Arena.

The victory was the 15th straight for Jamestown, tying a school record. The Jimmies can break the record with a win Saturday against Dakota State (S.D.)

Allison Jablonsky (SO/Blaine, MN)’s 12 points paced UJ (19-2, 8-0 North Star Athletic Association). She was joined in double figures by Paige Emmel (SR/Bismarck, ND) with 11 and Bryn Woodside (SR/Albert Lea, MN) with 10. Twelve different Jimmie players scored and 10 had four or more points.

Jamestown took a 21-7 lead after the first quarter, holding the Blue Hawks to 3 of 15 shooting. UJ’s defensive pressure continued in the second quarter, as Dickinson State connected on just 4 of 14 shots.

Jory Mullen (JR/Pierre, SD) finished with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the victors, while Jenna Doyle (JR/Princeton, MN) added 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots.

Dickinson State (5-16, 0-8 NSAA) was led by Lacey Waid’s 13 points. Karen Hopkins and Chelsey Borden each added 7. The Blue Hawks shot 23.3 percent from the field, the lowest amount given up by UJ this season.

Rebounds were 52-43 in favor of Jamestown, and the Jimmies turned the ball over 13 times to Dickinson State’s 23.
