N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- After a tough luck lose Friday at home against Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier, the Oakes High boys basketball team got back on the winning track, with a 78-70 victory Monday night at home against Strasburg/Zeeland.

The Tornadoes (6-5, 1-2 Class B District 5) had a lead as large as 20 at half, and were up by 16 going to the fourth before the Clippers (2-10, 1-1 Class B District 6) rallied in the final frame.

Three players had double figure totals for Oakes; Tyler Voightman (24), Garrett Meehl (21) and Max Muggli (15). Tanner Goebel lead Strasburg/Zeeland with 18 points.

The Tornadoes face another District 6 team at the end of this week, as they hit the road Saturday to Pingree to meet Medina-Pingree/Buchanan.
