JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to a home fire at 1105 16th Street Southwest Wednesday evening.

The call came in at around 4:20 PM. According to reports, a passerby reported smoke coming from the eves of the house. Officials believe the fire began in the kitchen of the home, but smoke damage forced the resident out of the home. There was reportedly significant damage in the home.

Emergency lodging for the resident of the home were provided through the Red Cross Association. A dog in the home had been removed safely and taken to a nearby home.
