VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A fire caused extensive damage to a home in Valley City on February 12th.

Firefighters responded to 640 10th Avenue Southeast in Valley City shortly after 5 o’clock Monday afternoon.

Fire Chief Gary Retterath said all of the occupants got out of the home safely but the family dog perished in the blaze. He said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The family has been displaced by the fire. It may take several months to repair the home.
