Jamestown Rural Fire Department 10th Annual Fishing Derby

 

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Rural Fire Department had another stellar turnout for their 10th Annual Fishing Derby February 17th.

JRFD Fire Chief Ben Maulding estimates that just over 1,300 participants made their way out to the Jamestown Reservoir to compete in the major fundraiser. Official vehicle and people counts were not immediately available.

Below are the winners for each category:

Perch
Doug Kempel – 0.95 lbs
Mike Dallmann – 0.87 lbs
Ramzy Olson – 0.00 lbs

Walleye
Brent Goll – 1.02 lbs
Ben Lokken – 0.89 lbs
Kirby Fruetel – 0.00 lbs (Drawn)

Northern
Ryan Cuypers – 10.73 lbs
Jake Piatz – 7.64 lbs
Cody Bassett – 4.48 lbs

Crappie
Vicki Klein – 0.95 lbs
Jamie Mittlieder – 0.90 lbs
John Meyer – 0.87 lbs

Total fish caught were 84 crappies, 8 perch, 4 northerns, and 2 walleye.
