VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City School board approved of hiring Consolidated Construction to be the construction manager for the proposed Hanna Field Athletic Complex pending board approval on a future bid.

School board member Ryan Mathias voted against the motion because he thought it was hard to hire a construction manager without any bids.

Superintendent Josh Johnson talked about the importance behind hiring a construction manager. Johnson said nothing has been approved or finalized with this project and we will know more once bids are available next month.

The following is audio from the February 21st meeting. Ryan Mathias is the first speaker followed by Josh Johnson.

The school board approved of the motion on a 3 to one vote, board member Rich Schueneman was absent at the February 21st meeting.

Last year, the Valley City School board hired two firms to help with the design concept of the proposed multi-phase Hanna Field Athletic Complex.
