GRAND FORKS, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) – Chase Fuhrman had a goal and an assist and Austin Martin made 25 saves leading Bismarck to a 3-1 win over Jamestown Saturday afternoon in the Consolation Championship game of the State High School Hockey Tournament.

Fuhrman scored what prove to be the game winner at 11:51 of the second period giving the Demons a 2-0 lead.

But 35 seconds later, Devin Hoffman would cut into the lead with his third goal of the state tournament and 26th of the season after two great passes by linemates Parker Stockert and Tommy Falk.

Fuhrman would assist on Zach Schmidt’s insurance goal at the 6:17 mark of the third period.

When Connor Fuchs went off with 53.1 seconds remaining in the third period, the Jays would play the rest of the game shorthanded and could not get another goal past Austin Martin who had 25 saves in the game. It was the most saves he would have to make in a game this season.

Matthew Schneider had 35 saves. During the season, no goaltender saw more shots, 924 or made more saves, 843, than Schneider.

The Jays end the season 14-12, the most wins under Head Coach Matt Stockert. Bismarck High ends the year 19-8.
