JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The final day of the 2018 Class B District V Boys Basketball Tourney wrapped up on Monday at the Civic with three games.  The number one seeded Carrington Cardinals won the championship and will move onto the Region III tourney along with EKM, Ellendale and Lamoure/LM.  Here are the results:

Ellendale 74 Oakes 63

The victorious Cardinals (16-6) looked like they were going to roll early on against their county rivals; as they started the game with an 8-0 run in the first quarter, and had an 11 point lead after the first eight minutes. The Tornadoes (9-12) were able to rally in the second quarter, featuring a 9-0 run of their own and eventually tied the game at 30. However, Ellendale ended the half on a 7-0 run and never looked back.

For the second game against Oakes this season, Ellendale was lead in scoring by Austin Molan with 27 points. Lucas Hofer added 25 points. The Tornadoes Tyler Voightman and Garrett Meehl each had 16 points in the defeat.

LaMoure-Litchville/Marion 63 Barnes County North 39

The Loboes led by just three points, 27-24 at the halftime break, but outscored the Bison 36-15 in the second half for the victory.  Leading the way for the Loboes was Shay Ness with 19 points, followed by Rory Gentzkow with 15 and Jamison Kramer with 15.  BCN was led by Colby Bruner with 14.  BCN ends their season at 9-13, LLM improves to 15-7.

Carrington 78 Edgeley-Kulm/Montpelier 68

Carrington set the tone early by scoring just eight seconds into the game and taking an 18 point lead at one point during the first half, but the Rebels would fight back and take a two point lead at the start of the fourth quarter that featured two ties and three lead changes. Senior Kolton Vetter and Sophomore Seth Nelson would hit some key shots down the stretch to help Carrinton secure the victory. Leading the way for the eighth rated Cardinals was Garrett Bickett with 25 points, including seven 3-pointers, followed by Trey Rosenau, Vetter and Nelson each with 12.  The Rebels were paced by Senior Lane Hanson with 35 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots Cale Mathern added 15 points. The Cardinals shot 59% from the field, were 10 of 19 beyond the arc and 85% at the charity stripe.  EKM drops to 16-5, Carrington improves to 19-2.
