FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- It all comes downs to one game for The Valley City High School girls’ basketball team. Friday afternoon they play in a loser out at The SHAC in Fargo against a team they beat twice this season in Fargo North.

Both The Hi-Liners and Spartans lost in their EDC quarterfinal games Tuesday night. Valley City fell to Grand Forks Red River 66-38 meanwhile in Fargo, North High lost 74-54 to Shanley.

When the regular season came to an end last week each team had identical 8-12 Eastern Dakota Conference marks. With both meetings this year falling in a favor of The Hi-Liners they earned the tie breaker to get the 6th seed, The Spartans were seeded 7th.

FNH head coach Aryelle Jones Schiller feels the teams have walked a similar path

Fargo North was edged by Valley City 53-46 on January 5th at The HAC and lost 59-46 at home February 16th. If The Spartans want to extend their season Coach Jones Schiller says they will need to come out with tenacity

The Hi-Liners and Spartans play in the second game of the afternoon Friday. Tip-off will be around 3:45 with pregame 15 minutes prior on KOVC 1490 AM / 96.3 FM and NewsDakota.com

Friday’s winner plays either Fargo Davies or Devils Lake Saturday in a state qualifying game.
