WAHPETON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Following a 24 hour delay The Region 1 Boys’ Basketball Tournament opened play Tuesday at The Ed Werre Arena on the campus of NDSCS in Wahpeton.

Oak Grove, Kindred, Wyndmere/Lidgerwood and Maple Valley moved on to the the semifinals set to be played Thursday. You can hear The Maple Valley game on Q101 and NewsDakota.com begin around 7:30.

No. 1 Oak Grove 94 vs. No.8 Milnor/North Sargent 54

Andrew Christianson scored 25 points to led The Grovers past The Bulldogs. Tyrell Rodriguez was also in double figures with 18 points while T.J. Anderson had a double double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. MNS was led by  Ben Waswick’s 14 points.

No.5 Kindred 56 vs. No.4 Richland 34

The Vikings were the only victorious lower seed Tuesday night. Kindred had 15 points from Keaton Rustad. The Colts failed to get a scorer in double digits, Zach Wulfekuhle had 9 points.

No.2 Wyndmere/Lidgerwood 59 vs. Enderlin 51

Down by 15 points heading into the 4th quarter Enderlin made one last pushed but came up short against The Warbirds. The Eagles outscored W/L 21-14 in the 4th quarter.

Chance Bye was 9 for 21 from the field on his way to a game high 25 points for Enderlin. Joe Hurlburt scored 12 points.

Luke Foertsch’s 19 points led Wyndmere/Lidgerwood. Aaron Bohnenstingl collected a double double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.

No.3 Maple Valley 50 vs. No. 11 Lisbon 40 

The Raiders never trailed leading by as much as 13 points. They shot 36% and went 14 for 16 form the free throw line. Hunter Smith poured in 21 points for Maple Valley; AJ Punton scored 13 points with 8 rebounds and Jacob Johnson added 8 points and 6 rebounds.

Lisbon’s top scorer was Wyatt Runck with 15 points. Garret Oland and Chase Johnson both scored 8.
