JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County reports that they were able to save around $420,000 in the general fund in 2017 along with savings in several other funds.

Stutsman County Auditor and COO Nicole Meland gave the breakdown of the fund balances, fund balance change summary, and individual breakdown to the Stutsman County Commission Tuesday afternoon. Meland reports that county expended a total of $21,880,611.10 of their $23,201,268.29 in revenue, leaving the county with around $1,320,657.19 in 2017.

In other major funds for the county, they came in less than budgeted in their general fund and social service fund. The road and bridge fund had a small loss of $9,844. Meland reports that overall, the county had significant savings in several other funds.

Meland says various capital funds accrued approximately $295,000 for future capital projects and large capital purchases. Commission Chairman Mark Klose pointed out they were glad to hear the report came in positive. Meland agreed.
