JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James Valley Pheasants Forever has been a part of the region for the past 8 years, helping to grow and maintain the habitat of the area.

The group has spent hours and dollars they’ve raised to keep the habitat in the best possible condition. Another way they’ve contributed is by completing their pollinator projects.

Ken McDougall is a member of the James Valley Pheasants Forever Group.

McDougall says they will provide the seed for those who are interested in their mission. He says a pollinator project they will be initiating this spring will be at Crystal Springs west of Jamestown.

The reason pollinator projects has become a focus for the group is to maintain the wildlife and ecosystem in the area.

“Baby pheasants eat bugs,” McDougall points out. “Bugs are attracted to flowers. If we don’t have those flowers, we don’t have bugs or bees. Then we don’t have honey.”

The group will be holding their annual Pheasants Forever Banquet this Friday, March 9th at the KC Hall in Jamestown. The funds raised for the event will stay local and help them continue working on their pollinator projects.
