BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The recent snow and weather has made some calving operations a tad difficult, but for ice anglers, it’s extended their time on North Dakota waters.

The Game & Fish Department is reminding anglers that their permanent ice houses need to be removed from state waters by March 15th. Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says residents can still fish though.

Leier says people can take their ice houses back out onto the ice, but must remove it when they leave. March 15th will also be the final day for spearfishing. Leier says some others may be excited now that the moose, elk and bighorn sheep applications are now available.
