JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There was no hazard to a Jamestown business and the public after a suspicious package left Tuesday night was found to be harmless.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger reports that on Tuesday afternoon, police were called to the South Central Human Service Center for what appeared to have been a “suspicious package” and a “white powder” inside.

“The package was secured and taken to the Law Enforcement Center where the contents were investigated,” Edinger stated. “Following investigation, it was found that there was no powder and nothing harmful inside.”

Edinger says the Jamestown Fire Department and Hazardous Material Response Team from Fargo were called to the scene as well.

Edinger wouldn’t comment one what the contents of the package could have been.
