JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Ralph Friebel with the Recycling Center of North Dakota provided an update to the city as Jamestown prepares for curbside recycling.

Friebel says at this time, most carts have been distributed with a few exceptions and reported damage to carts was being addressed. He says now, they’re focusing their efforts on recycling dumpsters for businesses and apartments.

Mayor Katie Andersen asked Fribel why some areas in Jamestown received a surplus of carts, to which he said that was being looked at.

Mayor Andersen also brought forth the concerns of securing recycling bins against the elements.

Friebel said that there hasn’t been anything looked at in that regard. Friebel says they will also said for individuals who have a problem with maneuvering their recycling containers can exchange their container with a smaller one. He says that’s an option for any resident.
