JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Arts Center received a $10,000 grant earlier this year to host a weekly event at the park to help promote downtown.

Jamestown Arts Center Executive Director Larry Kopp says the grant from North Dakota Tourism was distributed with the hope of growing downtown’s of several communities. Kopp says this was inspired by Governor Burgum.

Kopp says an effort between the Arts Center, Chamber of Commerce, and Jamestown Tourism has led them on working to bring the same revitalization to downtown Jamestown that Governor Burgum helped bring to Fargo.

Kopp says he has spent a lot of time planning and scheduling unique and original artists, bands, a market and more for each week on Thursday beginning in June. Kopp says he has around 90 percent of all the events scheduled for the free weekly summer event.

Kopp says there will be different themes and focuses weekly and they will have a list of all planned events available at the arts center and online. For more information, visit jamestownarts.com or call 701-252-2496.
