JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A unique therapy program that uses horses as a way to help those with special needs is continuing to raise money to build an arena and provide training for their staff.

“A Moment of Freedom” is a non-profit located in Buchanan, North Dakota. The group came together officially at the end of 2017 and began raising money to build an outdoor arena. They are continuing to raise money for that and to train their staff to provide the service.

Founder Annie Keffeler says their program director Kellie Connolly will be using different horses for different types of therapy.

The group will be working with the Anne Carlsen Center to bring the therapeutic service to the children. Keffeler says there is a lot they need to raise money for before the program is officially up and running.

Jackie Engdahl is with the fundraising committee for “A Moment of Freedom.” She’s been planning a trail ride as a way to raise money for the organization.

The trail ride is set for May 19th and the cost to participate per rider is $20 pre-registered and $25 the day of the event. Registration forms can be found at Southwood Veterinary Clinic, Jamestown Livestock and Tractor Supply Company.
