BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Spring is finally here in North Dakota.

The North Dakota Game & Fish Department reports that snow geese have made their way into the state. In the latest migration maps, reports have come in from Devils Lake, Harvey and Jud. Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says the migration took off earlier this week.

Leier says there are a few more hotspots for snow geese at this time.

While individuals are out, the Game & Fish Department is asking them to monitor on- and off-road travel conditions.

Leier says traveling on those roads would cause ruts and destroy roads. Hunters are strongly discouraged to do so.

With the warm up and spring-like temperatures, Leier also pointed out that wood ticks are starting to come out.
