VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Valley City is reminding residents that clean up week is May 7-11. Residents are asked to put out all of their garbage including extra items on your regular pickup day May 7-11.

There is no limit on the number of bags, cans and boxes but residents are asked not to exceed 32 gallons or 50 pounds per bag, can or box. Crews will also pickup couches, chairs, furniture, shrubs, branches and wood. Do not bag or box branches.

Paints and liquids can also be disposed of during cleanup week if in a dry and hardened form. Cat litter, floor dry can aid in the drying out process of these paints or liquids.

The following items will not be picked up; Tires, batteries and scrap metal. Tires must be taken to the transfer station. Batteries must be taken to a salvage yard. Scrap metal may be taken to Valley Recycling Center.

Residents will have to take their unwanted appliances to Truck and Auto Salvage or Valley Recycling Center. Those items will not be pickup by city crews.
