VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) -The Valley City Public School District, Consolidated Construction Co. Inc. and KLJ Architects will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a major construction project to add a new track and field, upgrade drainage systems, increase parking and improve the infrastructure at Hanna Field.

The first Phase of the complex is expected to be completed in August of 2018 and will include an eight lane track with upgraded field events such as long jump, triple jump, pole vault, discus, and shot put areas. The storm drainage systems for the site are also being upgraded, to include future phases of the project.

Superintendent Josh Johnson said Hanna Field has not been in use by the school district since the early 1990s. He said we are grateful for the partnership with Valley City State University for allowing us to utilize their facilities for the past 20 years. He added, we are ecstatic for the school district and the community to have another outdoor facility for athletic events.

The ground breaking ceremony will be held at Wednesday, May 16th at 4pm near Hanna Field the public is welcome to attend this event.
