CASSELTON, N.D. (KFGO) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi west of Casselton.
A semi driver, who was westbound on I-94, called dispatch shortly after 3 to report he had just struck a pedestrian near the Wheatland exit. The pedestrian died at the scene. State Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind was on scene.
Niewind says it’s not been determined if the car’s driver and the pedestrian are the same person.
The victim has not been identified.
The truck driver was taken to a Fargo hospital to be treated for shock. The crash shut down a stretch of I-94 for several hours and traffic was detoured. State patrol reconstruction troopers were on scene.
