FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Momentum is currently on the side of The Valley City High School softball team. They are coming off a dominant run through The Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament that ended with the team’s first ever tournament title and a #1 seed for the state tournament.

While outscoring opponents 43-1 The Hi-Liners had to make line up adjustments due to an injury to starting third baseman McKenna Taylor. Over the course of the tournament Mackenzie Pederson and Jessie Undem played out of position and made starts at 3rd while Eliza Schueneman had a start at first.

Coach Jason Lindgren felt those situations showed how well his team has been able to pick each other up all season

This year’s state tournament is unique because there’s been virtually no cross over between The WDA and EDC. West Fargo splits with Bismarck Century and Valley City swept Jamestown High School in the only games between the regions. For The Hi-Liners they don’t have a lot to go on for Minot their opening round opponent

Minot comes in as a 4 seed after losing in the semi finals to Bismarck Century, they went in to their tournament as a 2 seed.

Game time for round one Thursday is slated to start around 4pm, pregame is 10 minutes prior to first pitch on KOVC 1490 AM- 96.3 FM and NewsDakota.com

There will be a send off for The EDC Champion Hi-Liners, fans wanting to wish them good luck at 12:00 PM at the South end of the school. They will be departing at 12:30 PM, there will be a caravan leading them out of town.
