VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Senior Lexi Ondracek and junior Becca Thompson were 2 of the 18 players chosen for The 2018 Class A All State Softball Team.

As the starting catcher, Ondracek batted .375 with 5 extra base hits including a home run. She collected 16 RBI and drew a team high 9 walks.

Defensively Ondracek did not commit an error and caught 7 base runner in 14 steal attempts. The Hi-Liners pitching staff had a combined ERA of 1.67 in 129.2 innings with her behind home plate. Ondracek was an all EDC selection and finalist for Senior Athlete of the Year.

Thompson, who was also all conference, found success in both the circle and at the plate. While batting a team best .500 she was the leader with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs, 7 doubles and 64 total bases. During the postseason she hit .667 with 8 home runs and 19 RBIs in 6 games.

In 11 starts Thompson post an ERA of 2.15 with 15 walks and 32 strikeouts. Opponents managed just 19 earned runs in 62 innings.

Valley City ended the season 17-3. They won The EDC Tournament Championship and finished 5th at state.
