Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)——Hillsboro-Central Valley (HCV) Post 4 Blue Sox defeated Carrington Post 25,  9-0 and 8-5. Post 25 defeated HCV in last years Central Region championship, but the Blue Sox sent an early statement to the rest of the region with an impressive doubleheader sweep of Carrington.

Colton Anderson had a perfect game for 6 1/3  (retired first 19 batters of the game)before allowing a 1 out single to Lucas Geiszler in the 7th inning. Anderson struck out Gunnar Buskness to end the game with the bases loaded, his 10th strikeout of the game. HCV scored a single run in the first, 2 runs in the second, and blew the game open with a 5 run 5th inning. Gavin Wright, Dustin Beliles, and Ryan Troftgruben all had 2 hits and Troftgruben added 2 RBI. Patrick Limke (2 walks), Beliles, and Travis Doeden all scored 2 runs for the Blue Sox. Kyle Leapaldt took the loss on the mound for Carrington allowing 3 runs (2 earned) in 3 innings.

HCV opened up game 2 of the doubleheader with an 8-0 lead after 4 innings, scoring 3 runs in the first, 1 run in the 2nd and 3rd innings, and 3 more in the 4th. Beliles went 2-4 with a run scored and Anderson went 2-2 (2 doubles) with 3runs scored, 2 RBI, BB, and was hit by pitch. Post 25 would score 5 unearned runs in the top of the 5th inning thanks to 3 HCV errors. Carrington had 5 runs plated and the bases loaded with zero outs. HCV relief pitcher Eli Nelson (took over for starter Beliles) got an infield pop out from Leapaldt and a inning ending double play to halt the Carrington scoring. Beliles picked up  the win for HCV and Jayden Shipman took the loss for Carrington allowing 8 runs (3 earned), struckout 3, walked 5 batters, and hit a batter. Beliles allowed 5 unearned runs, 4 hits, struck out 3, no walks, and hit 2 batters. HCV improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Central Region while Post 25 dropped to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Central Region. Carrington will travel to Tolna on Monday June 11th to play Nelson County for a 7 inning game starting at 5:30 and a 5 inning game will follow.
