Travis Jon Michael Robinson, age 31, Leal, North Dakota, and formerly Valley City, lost his life as a result of a falling tree accident Friday evening June 8th, at his home in Leal. Travis attended Valley City Public Schools and the North Dakota State College of Science. He was employed as a Diesel Technician at Butler Machinery in Jamestown, N.D. for the past several years.

Travis was born on February 21, 1987 in Minot, North Dakota. He was welcomed home by his parents Larry and Mary Lee Robinson and his older brother James. Needless to say, Travis immediately became a big part of the family and maintained that position throughout his life!

Travis was a fun loving,caring, and spirited individual who loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and his two chocolate labs. He was very skilled in hunting and fishing and realized great success in these sports throughout his life. He loved his three nephews Alex (15) Max (9) and Jax (3) and they loved him. Their eyes would light up when Travis entered the room.

Travis’ mechanical expertise became known throughout the region as a top Diesel Technician. He had a unique ability to analyze issues and solve problems. He was a very quick learner.

His personal skills and big heart earned him a long list of special friends including Brady Jorrissen, Kelly Marler, Matt Kronebush, and Jeff Bauman, Leal/Rogers, N.D., Curt Johnson, Edgeley, N.D., Dave Grieger, Valley City, and Dwight Steele, Jamestown.

Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents Melvin and Inez Haugland and Floyd and Denise Robinson.

He is survived by his parents, Larry and Mary Lee Robinson, one brother James, a sister in law Mandi, his nephews Alex, Max and Jax., and several uncles and aunts. He also leaves his birth mother, Liz Washek of Ryder, ND.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm Thursday, June 14th with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Valley City. The funeral Mass will be Friday, June 15th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Valley City.
