VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) -Marcy Svenningsen and Vicky Lovell will face each other in the November 6th general election following the June 12th primary in the Barnes County District #4 race.

Svenningsen received 215 votes followed by Lovell with 147 votes. Erik Sand got 59 votes and Terence R. Brock received 45 in the primary.

In District #3 Incumbent Bill Carlblom received 266 vote and Eldred Knutson got 157 votes. The two will face each other in the general election in November.

In the Barnes County District #2 Commission race Shawn Olauson was running unopposed and received 374 votes and there were 7 write-in votes.

Barnes County State’s Attorney Carl L Martineck received 1,869 votes and write-in candidate Lilie Schoenack received 167 votes. Earlier, Martineck announced he would not seek another term, so Schoenack will be on the ballot in the November 6th general election.

In the Barnes County Sheriff’s race, incumbent Randy McClaflin received 1,719 votes and Sue Maresh Lloyd got 730 votes.

Barnes County Auditor Beth M Didier, County Recorder Jody Pfaff, County Treasurer Vicki Zinck Metcalf are running unopposed. The unofficial 2018 Primary/Election results are listed below.

Barnes County Auditor Beth Didier said 2,570 ballots were cast in this election. She said 64 percent of those ballots 1,653 were absentee. 917 ballots were cast on election day in Barnes County. She said 8 ballots will go to the canvassing board.
