DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)-  Devils Lake scored 2 late unanswered runs but it wasn’t enough for a comeback as Valley City hung on for a 7-6 win Tuesday night. In a 5 inning game Devils Lake won 8-1.

Post 60 returns home Thursday for a pair of game with The West Fargo Vets at Charlie Brown Field.

 

Game 1: Valley City 7 vs. Devils Lake 6

With Post 60 leading 6-1, Devils Lake scored 5 runs over the final 4 innings including a run in the bottom of the 7th. The difference maker would end up being Reese Huschka solo home run in 5th.

Valley City ended the game with 11 hits and did not commit an error. Riley Miller drove in 3 runs with Jacob Johnson plating 2. Miller, Johnson, Corey Nelson and Riley Gerhardt each had 2 hits.

For Devils Lake, Luke Knowski and Ryan Haahr both had 3 hits and 2 RBI.

Easton Hesch won his second straight decision pitching 3 2/3 innings surrendering 2 runs on 5 hits. Nate Grafsgaard took the loss.

Game 2: Devils Lake 8 vs. Valley City 1 (5 innings)

A 4 run 1st put Devils Lake on top early. Valley City’s only run came in the 4th. Matt Brandvold and Briar Harvey had Valley City’s hits. Conner May  pitched all 4 innings for Post 60.
