CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For 4 days, open prairie and wetland in North Dakota were filled with avid birdwatchers from all over.

Carrington Chamber Executive Director Laurie Dietz says the festival brings watchers from California, New Mexico, Washington, Ohio, Kentucky, and the Carolinas from June 13th through the 17th.

“Our numbers were down as far as attendees but they came from 15 states and Canada,” Deitz stated. “They saw over 150 species of birds and many were able to see and hear the Bairds Sparrow which is quite sought after.”
