VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Christopher Jerome Schmidt, 33-year-old male from Oakes, ND pled guilty to Count 1: Burglary-Night-B Felony; Count 2: Felon in Possession of Firearm-C Felony; Count 3: Theft-Take-Exceeds $1,000-10,000-C Felony; Count 4: Theft-Take-Firearm-Ammunition-Explosive/destructive device-C Felony.

Schmidt was one of the two suspects charged in a rural Barnes County farmstead burglary that occurred on August 28, 2017.

Schmidt was sentenced on June 13th to 4 years at the North Dakota Department of Corrections with credit for 32 days served.

Previously, Jessie Christopher Fetzer, 25-year-old male from Valley City pled guilty to Count 1: Prohibited/Possess Firearm-C Felony; Count 2: Burglary at Night-B Felony; Count 3: Theft-Take-Exceeds $1,000-10,000-C Felony; Count 4: Theft-Take-Firearm-Ammunition-Explosive/destructive device-C Felony; Count 8: Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-Use-SI, SII, SIII-A Misdemeanor. Fetzer was sentenced to 5 years at the North Dakota Department of Corrections with credit for 100 days served in December 2017.
