MANDAN, N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – The scores sounded more like football scores than American Legion Baseball scores, but Jamestown Post 14 came away with a doubleheader sweep of the Mandan A’s with a 15-10 win in game one and a 20-9 win in game two.

Jamestown blew a seven run lead and needed extra innings to put off a win in game one. With Post 14 leading 9-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, Mandan would score eight runs over the next two innings. First came a three run fifth. Then after Jamestown took a 10-5 lead on Tommy Falk’s rbi double in the sixth, the A’s would score five times in the sixth. Blake Arenz’ two run single tied the game at 10.

After both teams were held scoreless in the seventh, Jamestown would send eleven batters to the plate in the eighth and score five times. Dawson Douty’s two run triple highlighted the inning.

Douty finished with two hits.Tommy Falk and Aaron Kleven each had three hits. Ryder Lunzman, Kohl Kratz and Drew Murray had two hits apiece. Falk drove in three runs. Chris Erickson, Murray and Kleven each had two rbi.

In game two, Jamestown jumped out to a 7-1 lead after two innings and never looked back. Post 14 scored at least one run in every inning. It was a team effort as nine batters had at least one hit and nine batters scored at leas two runs. And eight different batters drove in runs.

Max Anderson, Drew Murray and Isaac Mimong led the hit parade with three each. Ryder Lunzman, Kohl Kratz and Tommy Falk had two hits each. While Falk, Anderson and Kratz all drove in three runs.

Jamestown improves to 7-5 overall and 4-0 in the Southwest Division. Mandan falls to 9-10 overall and 5-6 in the Division.

Post 14 travel to Bismarck to take on the Senators tonight before coming back home for a Divisional doubleheader with the Capitals on Friday. Game one begins at 5:30 from Jack Brown Stadium with the pregame at 5:15 on 1400 ESPN and NewsDakota.com
