JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dawson Douty and Ryder Lunzman combined to throw 14 innings and allow just seven hits Jamestown American Legion Post 14 swept a doubleheader from the Bismarck Capitals Friday night at Jack Brown Stadium. They won game one 9-2 and took game two 9-0.

Dawson Douty retired the first 11 batters he faced until Preston Eagleson singles with two out in the fourth inning. From their he allowed just two more hits leading Post 14 to the 9-2 win. Douty walked two and struck out 6.

He did it at the plate to going 3 for 4 with a stolen base and a run scored. Tommy Falk was 3 for 4 with four rbi. Chris Erickson was 3 for 4 with a run while Drew Murray was 2 for 4. As a team, eight starters had at least one hit as Post 14 ended with 15.

Ryder Lunzman held the capitals in check tossing a complete game four hit shutout in game two. Lunzman walked two and struck out 10. He ended the game with five straight strikeouts.

Offensively, Lunzman was 2 for 4 with two rbi. Dawson Douty was 2 for 3 with two run scored. Tommy Falk added a two run triple in the third, giving him six rbi for the doubleheader and a team leading 20 for the season.

With the sweep, Jamestown is 9-7 overall and 6-0 in the Southwest Division. The play Aberdeen Junior Legion team on Monday before hosting six teams at the Phil Brown Classic next weekend.
