Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)——Carrington Post 25 picked up a pair of wins in Central Region play over the Harwood Hogs (Post 297) 11-1 and 10-5. Carrington won game 1 by the 10 run rule in the bottom of the 5th inning when Lucas Geiszler singled home Cody Homes for the 11-1 victory. Geiszler wemt 2-2, scored 3 runs, 1 RBI, BB, and was hit by pitch. Payton Smith went 2-2, with 2 doubles, drove in 4 runs, and scored 1 run. Jayden Shipman went 2-3 and scored 2 runs. Kyle Leapaldt went 2-3, drove in 2 runs, and scored 2 runs. Brandon Larson added 2 RBI going 1-2 with a sacrifice flyout. Drew Page threw a complete game allowing just 1 run to the Harwood Hogs and allowed just 4 hits. Page picked up 4 strikeouts and did not walk any Harwood batters.

The Hogs allowed 2 first inning runs to Post 25 in game 2 but rebounded with a 3 run second inning and led 4-2 after 2 innings. Carrington responded scoring 4 runs in the third and 2 more runs in the 4th to open up a 8-4 lead and went on to a 10-5 victory. Payton Smith picked up the win taking over for Zac Johnson with the bases loaded and no outs in the second inning. Smith would pitch 6 innings allowing 1 earned run, striking out 5, and walking 2 batters. Smith also went 2-5 at the plate, scored 2 runs, stolen base, and had 1 RBI. Shipman went 2-4, scored 1 run, and had 1 stolen base. Larson went 2-4 with 2 RBI, was hit by pitch, and scored 1 run. Johnson went 2-3, scored 3 runs, and was hit by pitch. Cody Homes went 1-5, but drove in 3 runs. Nic Lyman also went 2-4. Carrinton improved to 18-6 overall and 10-3 in the Central Region. Harwood dropped to 10-8 overall and 4-7 in the Central Region. Carrington will host Nelson County on Tuesday evening starting at 5:30 with a 7 inning game and a 5 inning game with follow.
