UNDATED (NewsDakota.com) – The state of North Dakota has to combat the same serious diseases as the rest of the states; cancer and depression are just a few of their medical worries.

But by utilizing multi-year plans to expand their medical treatment facilities, and explore alternative means of healing, North Dakota has chosen to do what other states haven’t. And some of those treatments, such as green light therapy or herbal remedies, may hold some unknown answer that modern medicine is searching for.

Studying New Ways To Combat Cancer

According to a study conducted by North Dakota less than ten years ago, roughly three to four thousand cases of cancer are diagnosed in the state per year. Many of these cases are determined to be terminal, which means no official treatment can offer a reasonable chance of recovery. To that end, alternative therapies offer an outlet to fight against cancer and other diseases for those who refuse to give up, even though a hospital may not recommend them.

Giving Alternative Therapies The Green Light

Green light therapy, for example, is a new focal point of study in North Dakota. Colors have an impact on human psychology. Studies show the mind is excited by red, and calmed by blue, for example. Recent forms of alternative therapy in North Dakota have used green light therapy because green light, which sits on the center of the visible color spectrum, may create an emotionally balanced feeling and they believe it may promote cell growth and healing in skin.

Alternative Therapy Doesn’t Have To Wait For Clinical Trials

But that’s not the only source of alternative therapy. To fight cancer, which is the second leading cause of death in North Dakota as of 2016, the state put into place a five year plan to increase medical care to fight back against the disease. Herbal remedies are an alternative treatment used for cancer patients for years, and while widely acknowledged for their effects, only a few of thousands of herbs have seen clinical trials as of yet.

What This All Means

Green light therapy and herbal remedies are just a few common forms of alternative medicine. These methods are used to battle cancer, leukemia, and other diseases conventional medicine has yet to solve. And in North Dakota, a state who’s facing an average of at least three thousand diagnosed cases of cancer per year, more available means of treatment could lead to more survivors of these dangerous diseases than ever before.
