WAHPETON, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com) Post 25 sent nine batters to the plate in the top of the seventh inning, scored three runs to take a one run lead and held on to defeat the Wild Turkeys of Waupun, Wisconsin Post 210 on Thursday afternoon 4-3. Carrington improves to 31-8, Waupun drops to 25-5.

Carrington scored right away in the top of the first inning when catcher Lucas Geiszler scored on a single by second basemen Payton Smith.  Post 210 would tie the contest in the bottom of the second and score one run in each of the bottom of the fifth and six innings to take the lead 3-1. Starting pitcher Brenden Bille reached 101 pitches in the top of the seventh and was relieved by Caden Bronkhorst.  Waupun had not committed an error the entire game until the top of the seventh inning when they committed two errors. Post 25 hit three singles in a row and took the 4-3 lead.  Jayden Shipmen picked up the victory on the mound, working all seven innings, three runs, seven hits and two strikeouts.  Geiszler and Smith had two hits each at the plate, Smith had two RBI as well.  Keegan Hartgerink had two singles and Bryce Burmania had two singles as well for the Wild Turkeys.

Next up for Carrington will be on Friday at 2pm against the winner of La Crescent, Minnesota and Wahpeton in the winners bracket.
