JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After a mill levy special vote passed, the Jamestown Rural Fire Department has begun to gather support from townships and the county for the applied grant.

The district is applying for a 30-year loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program. The five mills will cover the loan payment for the first year.

A public hearing has been scheduled for August 16th at 7 PM at 205 3rd Avenue Northwest in the current fire hall. Residents will be able to obtain views of the new project and answer questions related to project economic and environmental impacts, service area, and alternatives of the project.

The new Rural Fire Hall will be located at 1209 9th Street Southeast with a planned addition to meet the departments needs.

All residents are encouraged to attend.
