CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Carrington School Board will be opening the doors of the new elementary school to the public on Sunday, August 26th for an open house.

Carrington Superintendent Brian Duchscherer reports that the entire community is welcome to come and see the newest addition to the district from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Duchscherer says while the building isn’t expected to completely finished before school starts Tuesday, August 21st, he is encouraged by the current progress.

The first volleyball game is set for August 28th and Duchscherer says they’re looking at hopefully having the gym done by that time.

Duchscherer says teachers have been training with curriculum and fire drills as well as preparing for the new school. As far as the old elementary school, it’s currently up for sale.

He says talks will continue about the school and they will see if it is sold by September 4th.
