JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Patriot Guard’s (NDPG) annual ride will be held in remembrance and celebration of fallen American heroes August 17th & 18th.

George Quigley is the NDPG Ride Captain for the Jamestown region.

While the Patriot Guard is typically associated as a motorcycle club, the website states that is not the case.

“Members include members of some motorcycle clubs, riders who are not members of any MC, and people who don’t even ride a motorcycle.”

The Patriot Guard attends funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. They show support for the heroes, families, and their communities. When necessary, they also act as a barrier or shield for the mourning family and friends from protestors. They do so through legal and non-violent means.

Quigley says the annual ride and get together is not only for remembrance, but also a joyous time to celebrate life and those who have served our country.

Quigley says the ride involves around 300 or more Saturday, August 18th.

The Memorial/Reunion & Honor Ride starts Friday, August 17th with a social hour and steak fry as well as live music with artist Joe Schmidt. Saturday, August 18th will be a pancake breakfast, the honor ride, raffel and live music with a silent auction and door prizes that evening. All are welcome to attend.
