JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For more than 60 years, the Bush Foundation has made significant investments in the arts.

This year, the Jamestown Arts Center was named a beneficiary of their Community Creativity Cohort grant. Jamestown Arts Center Executive Director Larry Kopp says they’ve been named as one of the recipients of a $100,000 grant for the center.

Kopp says they were encouraged to apply for the program. He says they were accepted and will receive a $100,000 grant over the next 3 years.

Kopp says the grant will allow the staff to go to conferences and more without it costing a dime of fund-raised money. He says a lot of foundations have an agenda, but the Bush Foundation works to make the Midwest a better place through the arts.

The non-profit Arts Center will also be holding their large fall fundraiser “Oktoberfest” this Saturday with proceeds benefiting the center and their programs. The event will feature live polka, beer, games, and more for the community at the Hansen Arts Park.

Kopp will also be stepping down as the Arts Center Executive Director once the event has concluded.
