JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In one week, the vote on the upcoming special vote regarding the planned $34.1 million in projects for Jamestown will be held.

If approved by voters on September 25th, the bond issue would result in a 37 mill increase in annual property taxes. The referendum is for expensive projects that could not be done in a three to five year time frame. It will update the learning space in all schools for 21st century learning.

On Monday, the school board met for the final time before the official vote. Superintendent Rob Lech informed the board that it was up to them to continue to share information on the plan, cost, and how to vote.

Lech says it’s important for the board to get the information shared while refraining from advocating for a certain position on the vote.

Early voting is available at the Stutsman County courthouse from 8 AM to 5 PM. The special vote will be September 25th from 7 AM to 7 PM at the Jamestown Civic Center.

In other school news, Superintendent Lech reported that the NDHSAA was finalizing the football plan to send Jamestown Blue Jay Football back to AAA.

Jamestown High School will also be hosting homecoming week starting next week.
