EDGELEY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Katie Entzi was near perfect Tuesday night as Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier picked up its first District 5 and Region 3 win with a straight set victory over Midkota.

The Rebels won 25-21, 25-16 and 25-11. Entzi was perfect on serving going 8 for 8 with one ace. She also missed on just three attacks for a .436 hitting percentage. She had 20 of the Rebels 28 kills.

 

Maren Berntson and Jamey Ellingson had three kills each. Avarie Carlson has 25 set assists. Libero Macy Boyer led the defense wioth seven digs. Jocie Madcke, Carlson and Entzi had five each.

Mariah Topp led the Mustangs with four kills. Brenna Anderson had a team high 17 set assists and Libero Janae Johnson had nine digs. Cassidy Hoyt added seven while Emma Johnson and Meanda Rickford had five each.

With the win, the Rebels improve to 2-3 overall, 1-2 in Region 3 and 1-1 in District 5. Midkota falls to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Regional and District play.

Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier will travel to Kidder County on Thursday while the Mustangs head to Lakota.
