ELLENDALE N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Marisa Garza had a team high 11 kills, and Nicole Schmitz added another seven as the Oakes High volleyball team remained perfect in Class B District 5 play with a three sets to none sweep of Ellendale Tuesday night.

The Tornadoes (16-2, 3-0 District 5) won by scores of 25-6, 25-13 and 25-18, and have won every set against a district opponent so far this season. Schmitz lead Oakes in aces with eight.

The Cardinals (2-11, 0-3) had Kiley Larson lead with six kills, while Katelyn Dathe and Abby Peterson each adding another four.

Both teams step out of district play for their next match Thursday, September 20. Ellendale is on the road at Leola-Frederick South Dakota, while Oakes welcomes South Border.
