Delores Amann, age 84, of Valley City, ND, died Tuesday, September 25th, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 4th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church near Dazey, ND. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel in Valley City and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday morning. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery near Dazey, ND.
Delores Irene Amann, the daughter of Edward and Marjorie (Thiel) Brobst, was born June 02, 1934 in Valley City, ND. Delores grew up in Rogers and attended school there. After receiving her education, Delores worked at the Bell telephone. On October 14, 1954 she married Joseph A. Amann and moved to a farm in the Dazey area in which they settled down and farmed. They were married 19 years until Joseph passed due to cancer. They had four children. On May 31, 1975, she married Henry Amann. The couple farmed near Dazey until moving into Valley City in 1991. Delores worked for various companies such as the Nearly Nu, Sheyenne Care Center and the ARC as well as helping out on the farm. Delores enjoyed cooking, fishing, crafts, watching sports of all kinds, and being with family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Ladies aid, Dazey Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Survived by her children: Kim (Denise) Amann, Dazey, Jolene (Jeff) Payne, Aurora, CO and Neil (Ronda) Amann, Dazey; grandchildren Kody, Dusty, Riley and Caden; six great-grandchildren; brother Steve (Linda) Brobst; sister-in-law’s Kathleen Brobst Valley City, Mary (Willis) Pritchard, Oakes, Gertrude (Chuck) Solum, Moorhead, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her spouses Joseph A. Amann and Henry Amann; daughter DeAnn Amann; parents Edward and Marjorie Brobst; and a brother James Brobst.
