Coach’s Comments

The Valley City Tennis Association (VCTA) put on a hotdog feed with all the fixings for both teams and all fans.  Everyone was very appreciative and it was a great time and atmosphere. Thank you, VCTA!

Grand Forks Central is a great team.  They are the odds on favorite to win the state championship as they are the number one team in the East and showed why today.

Seth Zeltinger held his own today in doubles at #2 in his first EDC varsity match ever.  He has continued to improve all season and will be a force for the Hi-Liners in years to come.  Kai Kringlie also played his first EDC match of the season.  He shows promise as an 8th grader.  These two will make it very interesting next season as they will push for a varsity position and we only graduate one senior.

Austin and Hale played some good doubles again today together.  This team continues to figure out how to play as a team, be consistent, and put points away.  Great job.

JV

The JV team 2-7 on the day, but won a total of 38 games. Everyone showed continued improvement in consistent serving and court awareness.  Against a deep opponent, the JV players returned shots and attacked the net with more confidence.  Jayden Johnson and Jacob Kruger came together as team and battled for a 6-4 win.  Treylan Cope and Max Magnuson served with success and kept shots cross court in a 6-3 victory in the last home JV match of the season.  We are so proud of how hard the players work and show true sportsmanship on the court.
