JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown held the inauguration of their 14th President Dr. Polly Peterson Thursday afternoon at Harold Newman Arena.

Peterson succeeds Robert Badal, who served from 2002-2018, as the 14th leader of the institution. Faculty, staff, and students were on hand to celebrate Peterson’s official ascension to the presidency.

Jim Unruh, the chair of the board of trustees, was among a handle of others who welcomes Dr. Peterson to her new post and gave gifts representing Jamestown’s motto, “Jounrey to Success.” During her inaugural address, President Peterson talked about the challenges facing higher education as students begin to way the cost and reward.

All of the Jimmie athletes and their coaches were in attendance.
