JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – When it comes to babysitting, some parents prefer someone who has had some training and prior experience.

NDSU Extension Service of Stutsman County will be holding their babysitting clinic on October 18th for those looking for knowledge and skills to promote safe and responsible care for infants and children as well as managing a babysitting business.

Extension Agent Christina Rittenbach says the NDSU Extension Service stepped up and has been providing the course ever since. She pointed out that they team up with Ringdahl Ambulance to provide the CPR and First Aid training and then they focus on the babysitting part of it.

Rittenbach says while the training isn’t necessary for those wanting to provide childcare or babysit, but the course provides a lot of resources and information to prepare an individual for what may lie ahead.

While the course on the 18th is full, Rittenbach says they are compiling a waiting list for those who are interested in future clinics. She says it’s geared for individuals 11 years old and up and costs around $25 to attend.

If you’re interested in learning more or getting on a waiting list for a future clinic, you’re encouraged to contact Christina Rittenbach at 701-252-9030.
