JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After serving the Frontier Village as President for the past few years, Nellie Degen will shift her focus to working with families of domestic violence, suicide, and other abuse.

Degen made her announcement last Monday at the Frontier Village Association Meeting.

“I’ve worked with the Village for several years assisting them in many capacities and they’re in a good place right now,” Degen stated. “We achieved a lot our goals and I’ve been blessed with many wonderful memories.”

Degen says she will step down officially in January of 2019. She says she’s comfortable with where the board is and where they’re heading.

Degen says now, she’ll be using her time trying to eliminate domestic violence. She says she would like to take her work and focus all the way to the state level.

Degen says there needs to be more proactive people combatting domestic violence and hopes by using her time and efforts on it that she’ll inspire more to follow her lead.
