Violet Schrenk, age 83, of Valley City, ND, died Sunday, October 14th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 19th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Lerud Mathias Funeral Home and one hour before the service on Friday afternoon at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.

Violet Fandrich, the 7th daughter of John and Florence (Crowder) Fandrich, was born on July 1, 1935, in Streeter, ND. Violet was married to Curtis Schrenk in Jamestown, ND by Reverend N. E. McCoy. For the 47 years they were married, she was a homemaker, friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The joy she got from life was the love she gave and received from all her family and friends. Every life that Violet touched; all they would say she has a contagious smile. Violet loved playing Bingo, Pinochle, Mahjong, Yahtzee and putting puzzles together. Violet owned a collection of various dolls, she loved how beautiful they were. Violet was a Minnesota Twins baseball fan and enjoyed watching old TV shows and movies.

She is survived by her children Roy Fandrich, St. Paul, MN; Dianne (Gary Rude) Mathby, Kenmore, ND; Kim (Carolyn) Schrenk, Jamestown, ND; Pam (Gary) Anderson, Bismarck, ND; Julius (Amy) Schrenk, Oriska, ND; Dawn (Shawn) Erdahl, Jamestown, ND; Chad Schrenk, Valley City, ND. Violet also had the joy of loving ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Violet is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and John Fandrich; her husband, Curtis Schrenk; her grandson Shawn Anderson; and her six siblings.
